The Shari'a is Perfect for All Times and Places

Islam is both a system of belief and a system of laws, know as the "shari'a".  This shari'a is valid, binding and perfect for all peoples, times and places.  It is not poassible for any situation to arise for any person on the face of this earth but that in the Qur'an and Sunnah is the guidance to its solution.  To refuse to turn to the Shari'a for judgement is the same as to reject it - both of them constitute leaving the religion of Islam.

Allah will call the prophet of each Ummah as a witness over them and will call Prophet Muhammad (sas) as witness over the Muslims and ALL of the nations because Allah requires of everyone that they believe in ALL of His Messengers.  As it is said, "He who is kind to everyone and everything except for a kitten in his house is not called a kind man."  Allah said:

In Allah's book is the clarification of all issues and the ruling on all question.  Allah's book contains the sunnah "by reference" since it orders us to obey and follow the Prophet (sas) and informs us that his message consisted of two parts of which the Qur'an is only one.  Thus, Allah's book contains the ruling on all things either directly (by text) or by reference to one of the other source of the Shari'a, at the head of which is the Sunnah.  Other sources include ijmaa' and ijtihad of the mujtahideen.

Islam brought laws and teachings which protect from errors and following of desires.  It is obligatory and there is no choice for the Muslim but to follow the message sent to Muhammad (sas).  All else is nothing but the following of desires.

In this verse is an unequivocal command to follow, judge with and rule by all of what Allah has sent us and a prohibition to follow desires which lead elsewhere. Allah cautions us from being tempted or seduced away from even any small part of our Shari'a.

Allah explains to us that folowing his guidance is the only way to being saved from going astray and from hardship and that turning away from his guidance is the road to a miserable oppressive life in this world and a painful punishment in the hereafter.  Allah said:

Allah declared the kufr of those who failed to rule and judge by what he sent:

And Allah swore an oath as to the absence of belief in one who does not turn to the Prophet (sas) for judgement in any disagreement.

In the latter days, there will be strife and much difference among Muslims.  In these times, holding fast to the sunnah and the Shari'a and demanding of yourself a clean heart and the correct action becomes all the more important to our survival and safety.

The decline of the Ummah will be brought about by much spite, envy and enmity between the hearts and by ignorance accompanied by arrogance which doesn't allow obedience or discipline among the Muslims.

Examples of how easy it is to seek guidance from the Qur'an:

It has been reported taht Shaqeeq Al-Balkhiy (ra) said to Haatim:  You have accompanied me for a while, so what have you learned?  He answered: [I learned] eight issues:

  1. I looked to the creation (i.e., people) and saw that everyone has someone who loves them.  But, when they reach their graves, their loved ones desert them.  So, I made my loved one my good deeds so that they may be with me in my grave.
  2.  I looked to Allah's statement:  {And they prohibited the self its desires.} An-Naaziaat:40.  So I exerted myself in combatting negative desires until I reached equilibrium in obedience to Allah.
  3. I looked at everyone who possessed something of value and sawin guarding it.  Then I looked at Allah's statement: {All that you possess will vanish but what is with Allah will remain.} An-Nahl:96  So, whenever I found myself in possession of something of value, I directed it to Him so that it might remain.
  4. I noticed that the people judge based on wealth, social status and nbility and all of these are nothing.  So, I looked at Allah's statement: {The most noble of you is the greatest in piety.} Al-Hujuraat:13.  So I focussed on my taqwa to that I might be noble to Allah.
  5. I saw people envying one another.  So, I looked at Allah's statement: {We have divided the provision among them.} Az-Zukhruf:32.  So I left envying anyone.
  6. I saw people bearing enmity toward one another.  So, I looked at Allah's statement: {Surely, Shaitaan is an enemy to you, so take him as your enemy.} Faatir:6.  So I left feeling enmity toward anyone and took Shaitaan as my enemy.
  7. I saw people humiliating themselves in seeking wealth.  So, I looked at Allah's statement: {There is no creature on the earth but that its provision is upon Allah.}  Hud:6.  So I busied myself with what is upon me for him and left what is mine with him.
  8. I saw the people placing their reliance upon their businesses, their trades and the health of their bodies.  so, I plaed my reliance on Allah.
