Playing and Joking Which is Not Permitted

"Do not take the property of your brother, neither jokingly nor seriously." And, "Whoever took a stick belonging to his brother, let him return it."

"Seriously" is self-evident as that is stealing. "Jokingly" would not be stealing exactly, but it is prohibited because of the feelings or ill-will which may result. The stick was used as an example because it is an insignificant item of property.

A man came to the Prophet (sas) and said, "I have no conveyance, so help me with one." The Prophet (sas) answered, "I have none." Then, a man said, "O Messenger of Allah, I can direct him to one who will provide a mount for him." The Prophet (sas) said, "Whoever directed to a good deed will get a reward equal to that of its doer."

He has a similar reward because of his facilitating that good deed (if it happens).  If it doesn't happen, then his is the reward for his niya and his attempt  at bringing it about.

The importance of "cooperation in righteousness and piety".

Anas ibn Malik reported that a Jewish woman gave the Prophet (sas) some poisoned lamb and he ate from it.  She was brought before him and it was said, "Will you not kill her?" He answered, "No." I continued to see the signs of that [poisoning] in the flesh of his mouth after that.

The Prophet (sas) sent Mu'adh and Abu Musa to Yemen saying to them, "Make things easy and do not make them difficult. Be bringers of good news and do not repel people. And, be compliant and flexible with each other and do not differ."

From Abullah ibn Az-Zubair regarding Allah's statement {Take the easy and enjoin all that is right...}, he said, "Allah did send this except regarding the character of people."  And, he said, "Allah commanded his Messenger (sas) to take the easy way with the people and their character."
